Retrospective Part 3

Looking at the topics I chose to give you some glimpses of my past, I notice it is almost exclusively trips I tell you about.
This could mean three things: Either my life at home is not picturesque or it is plain boring. Or that I only take my camera to trips.

This makes me think: What makes a life exciting? Is it the trips you have? Is it the things you can show to others?
Are there things you can’t show? Things that can hardly be photographed?

I think there is something that goes beyond pictures and descriptive words. There are stories. Experiences. Adventures.
You are being shaped, influenced and nurtured by the time you spend.

The reason why those experiences are always great is that I never went alone. There are people. Companions. Friends. And I don’t want to miss but one of them.

So summer came and Oh! it was a wondrous time. You know that idyllic ‘day at the lake’? We had that. Some camping, some water, some music, some sun, some walk and lots of fun!

Also, I visited Munich for the first time. It was an experience partly set in the city and partly at a medieval festival. My friend and I had a grand time indeed.

A great deal of my life revolves around my workplace. And by all means, it is not all bleak and sad! Some days we get together not to do our everyday job, but to spend some time casually. And we are quite good at that! This time we went on a canoe tour. Just at the brink of announcing the paddling to be work, we arrived at the campsite. We were awaited by drinks, food and a long night that, I think, brought us all a bit closer.

Retrospective Part 2

In retrospective, last year seemed to be all about visiting every corner of Germany and some of Europe even.

How to better kick off a year than going skiing? Part business trip, part skiing adventure, we had a blast in the Dolomites!

Around Easter I brought some pictures back from the northwestern shore and even from the Netherlands. One remarkable trip that was!

A little later I had the chance to properly visit the German capital and learn a great deal about its history. Old and full of significant sights it stayed in my head.

For the first part of the year, it has been a ride and I remember it dearly.
Main ingredient of the best experiences are people. It adds flavour, when you recall ‘the old times’.

Retrospective Part 1

When we returned from Denmark, you’ll remember or go look for that soothing entry, it was time for the stage.

It should be the last stage play I did yet, because I wanted to concentrate on the apprenticeship. The stage has its demands and I had other priorities. But no one said I didn’t enjoy it! In fact I did leave my comfort zone in certain ways for this.

I left out grooming to appear the lost and found and still loved son. Cut out of a whale, full of wisdom and grim views of the world, unafraid and out-of-his-mind, returning home just when the world is about to end. A comedic, yet forceful and crazy play it was. Not last thanks to the dear ensemble. And don’t y’all fear: I will go there again. Honour the black planks and assume yet another character.

Just before the year came to its conclusion, two events stood out: Autmn in all golden glory. Why do I mention that season? Because there were about one or two occasions I went for some pictures. But I would say those capture some of the atmospherical essence appropriately.

The other occasion was that I discovered another place to publish. On a platform that has gone beyond photographic interest I started to post stand-out pictures alongside some moody captions and those cheesy hashtags. It is fun, check it out.

Catching Up

A long silence is hard to overcome.

We experienced one here.

But it is over now.

I lived my life in a quiet and rather striving way. You know after I returned from the great journey, I got into an apprenticeship. That was what I did. Until it was over. It ended this very month. My life changed once more. I guess I evolved.

Up to these days it was ‚the same old‘, substantially. But now the winds are blowing stronger. The waters get wider.

Though, philosophy talk aside, the passed time has not been without wonder and awe, the months of said silence not so quiet after all.
Truth be told, my days have been filled with friends, accomplishment and love.

In somewhat of a retrospective, I would like to tell you about it. It might become a little series of accumulated bliss.

So stay tuned and be a witness of how ‚Sir Oliver Evolves‘!

Soothing Denmark

It is not hard to compose an entry for your blog. You only need some pictures and descriptive elements. I’ll go for a precending text on this one. Oh, and you might need some time to actually do it. That is what kept me from adding to the collection for quite a time.

Nevertheless, here is my retrospective of a fabulous week I spent in Denmark with some friends.

Most of the time we spent exploring the area and having trips to some stunning places around. In times of an elevated stress level there is nothing more soothing than a vacation like this.
