Es gab keine \u00c4pfel mehr, die gepfl\u00fcckt werden konnten. Sie sind noch nicht reif genug, wurde uns gesagt. Was f\u00fcr die Reisekasse nichts sonderlich Gutes bedeutet, freut dagegen den m\u00fcden K\u00f6rper.<\/p>\n

Die 2 freien Tage w\u00fcrde ich f\u00fcr eine kleine Reise nutzen, sagte ich mir und informierte mich \u00fcber das Angebot der Gegend.<\/div>\n
Viele w\u00fcrden sicher sofort in ihrem Reisef\u00fchrer oder im Netz suchen, aber Neuseeland lehrt anderes. Ich fragte einen Einheimischen, der nebenbei noch unser g\u00fctiger Vorarbeiter ist und dessen Maori-Wurzeln bis zu den Anf\u00e4ngen Aotearoas reichen. Seine Kultur besch\u00e4ftigt sich viel mit der Umwelt und auch mit historischen Hintergr\u00fcnden. Und er empfahl mir unter vielen anderen Vorschl\u00e4gen nach Mahia zu fahren. Das ist eine Halbinsel am n\u00f6rdlichen Ende des K\u00fcstenverlaufs von Hawkes Bay.<\/div>\n

Dort hatte er seine Kindheit verbracht und dort seien auch seine Vorfahren erstmals in Neuseeland an Land gegangen. So weit, so vielversprechend… \ud83d\ude42<\/div>\n
Meine Mitbewohner bescheinigten mir den Ort als (unter Einheimischen, weniger unter Touristen) beliebten Urlaubsort und so ging es dann mitsamt Kamera und Schlafsack los.<\/div>\n

In Neuseeland darf man nicht mehr als 100km\/h fahren. H\u00f6rt sich f\u00fcr uns Deutsche wie eine Strafe an, aber wenn man sich das genau ansieht ist es gerechtfertigt: Die Autobahnen sind (au\u00dfer Reichweite der Metropolen) bestenfalls mit einer Landesstra\u00dfe zu vergleichen und zu 90% unm\u00f6glich mit (erlaubter) H\u00f6chstgeschwindigkeit zu bew\u00e4ltigen. An den Kurven gibt es meistens Richtgeschwindigkeiten, damit man sich nicht versch\u00e4tzt. Ist f\u00fcr Touristen sehr hilfreich. \ud83d\ude09<\/div>\n

Die gro\u00dfe Freiheit genie\u00dfend hielt ich \u00fcberall nach Lust, Laune und Abbiegem\u00f6glichkeit an und schoss Fotos. Der erste Halt war am Lake Tutira.<\/div>\n

Im Wald roch es nach Ziegen und ich sah auch welche in einiger Entfernung. Direkt neben dem State Highway 2 leben also Ziegen im Geb\u00fcsch, gut zu wissen.<\/p>\n

In Mahia checkte ich auf einem, dank Nebensaison sehr g\u00fcnstigen, Holidaypark ein und parkte auf einem der wenigen Pl\u00e4tze mit Meerblick. Ein Holidaypark ist im Grunde ein Hostel ohne Zimmer, weil man mit eigener Behausung (Auto, Zelt, Wohnmobil) anreist.
Aber das Ankommen war nur ein Teil meines Plans…<\/p>\n

Nachdem ich die Sonne geb\u00fchrlich verabschiedet hatte, fuhr ich dann zur\u00fcck und verbrachte meine erste Nacht im Auto. War ganz sch\u00f6n kalt, aber man muss manche Dinge im Leben ja mal gemacht haben… \ud83d\ude00
So fiel es auch nicht schwer, den Schlaf zu unterbrechen und eine Strecke zu fahren um den Aufgang der Sonne mitzuerleben. Das Gute an der Halbinsel ist, dass sie wie im Westen, so auch im Osten freien Blick auf das Meer gibt. Ich kann nur sagen, dass es sich lohnt! Steht fr\u00fch auf, geht an einen sch\u00f6nen Platz und genie\u00dft dieses \u00fcberw\u00e4ltigende Spektakel der Natur. Ob ihr w\u00e4hrenddessen den Ausl\u00f6ser eurer Kamera oder jemand anderen dr\u00fcckt, bleibt eure Entscheidung. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
